Who I am…
👋🏾 Hi, I’m Michael — a Senior Product Designer shaping human experiences at the intersection of behaviour, technology, and design systems. I treat design like orchestrating a complex ensemble: understanding how people think, how systems behave, and how to simplify the world’s complexity into experiences that feel clear, human, and inevitable.
My work draws from the past, learns from the present, and pushes into what hasn’t been built yet.
Across nearly seven years in technology transformation and Human–AI interaction design, I’ve designed end-to-end experiences for some of the UK’s most recognised brands — Deloitte, Barclays, British Airways, NatWest Group, Aviva, and Lloyds — as well as early-stage startups and founders building ambitious products.
Lateral thinking is the core of my practice. It helps me cut through noise, uncover the real problem, and design solutions that balance human behaviour with business outcomes — whether in regulated Financial Services, high-stakes environments, or zero-to-one product spaces.
I enjoy working with sharp, curious, forward-thinking people who want to build meaningful, intelligent products — and make them feel effortless.
Just a few more things to note…
Paying it forward
At Barclays, our team became unexpectedly small, and a junior designer — also coming from an HR background — needed space to grow. I shared the courses that shaped me, reviewed their work, brought them into my projects, and involved them in freelance opportunities when I could.
They’ve since become a Lead Designer in their own right — a reminder that investing in people always pays forward.
Still paying it forward
At NatWest, several apprentices began reaching out with a real hunger to grow in UX and Product Design. I made it a priority to support them—advocating for them with stakeholders, giving them practical tools, and creating space for their development.
Leadership noticed, and appreciated the effort to make their time at the bank meaningful and career-shaping. I also brought in a Professional Network to widen their support, giving them more voices, more guidance, and more chances to grow.
